KNVI KNVI Special Session - Round Table - Steel in Practice: Innovative Steel Realizations and Evolving Standards

This special session explores how cutting-edge steel design practice and regulatory frameworks are shaping one another in an increasingly global context. Through case studies and technical reflections, the session highlights innovative steel structures, emerging sustainability strategies, and the evolving international codes that guide design and construction.
Presentations will range from iconic structural realizations- new Santiago Bernabéu Stadium- to engineering applications and standardization. To conclude, a round-table dialogue, in which the audience will be able to interact with the speakers, will analyse the relationship between fostering innovation in design and the regulatory framework that enables it, offering a holistic view of steel’s role in shaping resilient, sustainable, and innovative steel structures.
