“L' Estació de França”, A MONUMENTAL GATEWAY TO THE CITY OF BARCELONA
“L' Estació de França”, inaugurated in 1929, was designed as a monumental gateway to Barcelona. Its unique curved layout and large metal canopy reflect historical constraints of the railway line. Promoted by Eduardo Maristany and designed by Pedro Muguruza and Andreu Montaner, the station posed a significant technical and urban challenge. It was ultimately completed as a symbol of modernity in the context of the 1929 International Exposition.
